While many people strive to uphold this vow, it appears that for some people, it is nothing but mere words.

This is exactly the case of a man who abandoned his wife of 11 years in the hospital after she had undergone a breast cancer surgery in which she had a mastectomy.

According to the story shared by Twitter user, Zahra Zaraa Danejo, he did not want to stay with a deformed woman.

"Friend of mine had a mastectomy because of breast cancer and her husband of 11 years left her at the hospital because he could not stay with a deformed woman," she wrote

"I get upset every time I think about it, deformed like she was some piece of equipment that is no longer useful. After 11 years he just discarded her like an old toy," she added

According to Danejo, society would have responded harshly had it been her friend who left the husband in the hospital over the same.

"I get even more upset when I think about how she would have been scorned and bullied if she was the one who left him in a hospital,after cancer surgery," she said.

The move has angered netizen who came out to show support for Denajo's friend while condemning the husband.

"Stories like this are all too familiar. Had a coworker who died of breast cancer after her husband didn’t consent to a mastectomy," wrote Abdulkadir
